Virtually every DeFi application integrates with MetaMask and supports many different blockchains, such as the Aurora mainnet. In this guide, CMC Academy explains how to add the Aurora network to MetaMask.

- Install the Metamask software wallet.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Add network.
- Paste the necessary information and add Aurora mainnet (AURORA).
Step 1: Installing MetaMask in your browser
MetaMask’s official website provides you with the means to securely install the MetaMask wallet on your browser. After downloading the extension, you can add it to your browser. Open the browser settings, click “Settings” and select “More tools”. This will bring up the following screen:
By toggling the blue button, you can pin the extension to your browser:
Step 2: Open Metamask in your browser
After installation the wallet can be accessed in the upper right corner of your browser.
If there is a MetaMask wallet PIN, you need to click on the MetaMask Fox icon. If it’s not a PIN, click the extension icon in the top right corner of the screen to open your MetaMask wallet.
Expand the wallet to a new browser page Click “Expand View:”.

Step 3: Add Aurora Mainnet to your MetaMask wallet.
Add the Aurora Manet in the next step. To do this, you need to select the profile icon on the top right and click on Settings.
Open the “Networks” option from the following screen:
You will get a screen like the following:
The next step is to click “Add a network” to add the Aurora Mainnet. You can copy and paste technical information about Aurora Mainnet from below.
- Network Name: Aurora Mainnet
- RPC URL: https://mainnet.aurora.dev
- ChainID: 1313161554
- Symbol: AETH
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.aurora.dev/
Save the network and click “Save” to add it to your Metamask wallet:
If you want to add AURORA tokens, you need to click on “Import Tokens” which will bring you to the following screen.
Copy the token details from the Etherscan site:
Token Contract Address: 0xAaAAAA20D9E0e2461697782ef11675f668207961
Token Symbol: AURORA
Click on “Add Custom Token” to add AURORA and on the next screen click on “Import Tokens”. If you have done everything correctly, you will see the following screen.
